First of all, thank you for all of the great resources! I was recently diagnosed with cancer in July of this year. I asked my doctor about the biomarker analysis and molecular profiling. Her response to me was that it is completely unvalidated and not clinically useful. I am really having a hard time understanding the “not clinically useful” part. Has anybody else experienced anything similar to this? Thank you!

      Hi Meghan,
Thanks so much for reaching out to me. I am a HUGE proponent of biomarker analysis & molecular profiling. Have you gotten a second opinion? I do know quite a few doctors don’t buy in to it but I don’t understand why- and candidly, many medical experts don’t understand why there is opposition to this either. There are only a handful of known biomarkers but if your tumor has one of the known ones, there are proven targeted therapies that are more effective at treating it. I would personally run any testing available regardless of the type of cancer. If you are interested, I’m sure the folks from would gladly speak with you.
