Get Inspired With “Seize The Days”

“Seize the Days”; “Carpe Diem”; Enjoy the pleasures of the moment, without concern for the future.  For many cancer patients, these words perfectly epitomize their mindset and mantra.  Just ask Dr. Evan Lipson, Melanoma specialist at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, who every day witnesses both the devastating effects of cancer as well as the remarkable and positive things people are doing despite a diagnosis of cancer.

To draw attention to how cancer patients & caregivers are making the most of their lives during & after cancer, Dr. Lipson founded SeizeTheDays.org.  Each person interviewed is in some way moving forward with their lives in the present moment.  “Some create things like art or poetry, while others have become activists, raising money or awareness for a cause.  Many volunteered or began exercising, or rekindled relationships with family or friends.”  Each person interviewed is a glass is half full kinda person… and I’m inspired by every interview I’ve listened to.

So check out SeizeTheDays.org and get inspired…. hear from Sarcoma survivor Annie the Mermaid; Marcia, founder of MyLifeLine.org; Robert on his New Outlook; How Don Speaks His Mind;  Liz the TravelerErika the Mayor, founder of ColonTown; and even me… Robyn the CancerHAWK plus many, many more.  Thank you Dr. Lipson and SeizeTheDays.org for sharing the ways those of us who have been touched by cancer add life to our days.
