Can anyone find a little-known city called COLONTOWN, USA? It’s not on a map and your navigation system won’t be able to find it. But if you’ve had or have colorectal cancer (CRC), you should really get there for a visit.
Here’s the dealio (as my daughter always says)…
COLONTOWN is like a gated community. It’s not in Boca or the Hills, it’s on FaceBook. It’s an amazing FREE resource created by colon cancer survivor Erika Hanson Brown (aka The Mayor) to let others confronting this lethal disease that “Together we can do this!”
COLONTOWN is for anyone affected by colorectal cancer & who is looking to be part of a community that understands. “Town residents talk candidly about the side effects of chemo treatments; about clinical studies they are enrolled in to test new drugs, what the new drugs do to their bodies, & whether they get results; about what a drag it is to miss events with family & friends because you are afraid to be far from the most important room in the house (bathroom); and about the emotional release that is granted by the ability to vent about all it.” This is a safe place for people with CRC to talk about whatever they want.
Just like any gated community, to enter COLONTOWN, you must be **invited**. To gain access, ANY COLONIST (citizen) of COLONTOWN can invite any of their colon cancer connections & friends. Amazing I know!
If you don’t know any COLONISTS (citizens), either Friend Erika Hanson Brown (7 year CRC survivor & Mayor of COLONTOWN) on FaceBook @ www.facebook.com/COLONTOWNmayor or Friend Me Robyn Gross Stoller and let us know your interest in joining the group. It’s that simple. We’ll get you in, no problem. Also check out COLONTOWN @ www.facebook.com/COLONTOWN for more information.
If you know of anyone with Colon Cancer, please pass this on… it’s an invaluable FREE resource for them. Knowledge is power! Share the power!!
