I just learned about yet another amazing FREE resource to help cancer patients travel to & from treatments.
Do you need travel assistance to and from your cancer treatment?
- Problem: Many cancer patients either don’t have a ride or are unable to drive themselves to chemo & radiation treatments.
- Solution: The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery is a national program of volunteers who drive patients to & from cancer treatments. Drivers donate their time & the use of their vehicle.
- Here’s how it works… Patients call the American Cancer Society’s toll-free number @ 1.800.227.2345 and a trained specialist matches them with a volunteer driver in their area who is available during the time when they need to go to treatment.
If you or a loved one is in need of free transportation assistance, please contact the American Cancer Society @ 1.800.227.2345.
BTW, the American Cancer Society needs more volunteers to insure that all patients have transportation when they need it. To volunteer as a driver, all that’s needed is as little as a few hours a month, a safe driving record & a vehicle. American Cancer Society will provide training & support materials. Call 1.800.227.2345.
