Yoga for Cancer Patients, Survivors & Caregivers
Did you know medical research can now demonstrate the beneficial effects of yoga as a complementary therapy to cancer? Yoga can help with depression, anxiety, insomnia, pain & fatigue.
I just learned about an amazing organization called Yoga Bear, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to “promoting wellness & healing to the cancer community through the practice of yoga.” In addition to providing FREE classes & online yoga videos, they also partner with yoga studios from around the country to offer FREE or donation-based restorative or gentle yoga classes (sometimes described as restful yoga for stressful times) for cancer patients, survivors & caregivers.
And this is really amazing… Yoga Bear has created “The Healing Yoga Project” which brings yoga programs to hospitals across the US. Currently, they offer FREE yoga classes at UCSD Moores Cancer Center in San Diego, CA & the Maimonidies Cancer Center in NYC.
