Wish I Had Known About gotCancer.org

Wish I Had Known About gotCancer.orgWho said “laughter is the best medicine“?  Well, I think all of the experts would agree that entertainment can only help.  So, we tried to laugh often throughout our cancer journey (much easier said than done btw).  Alan even stopped watching Fox News, MSNBC and Hannity & Colmes for a while.  Instead, we watched “40 Year Old Virgin”, “The Hangover”, and any Jim Carrey movie we could find.  And to be honest, it was fun…  well relatively speaking… we’d watch these movies during Alan’s six hour long chemo sessions.

I wish I had known about gotCancer.org though… I would have had everyone at the infusion clinic wearing some really cool, fun gear.  They have amazing shirts, hats, journals, mousepads, cards, etc, designed to make anyone dealing with cancer laugh.  A little entertainment goes a long way.  A few of my favorites are  “Cancer Survivor By Day, Rock Star By Night”, “Nice Try Cancer… But I’m Still Here”, “I’m STRONGER Than Cancer” and “I’m Making Cancer My Bitch”.

And all profits from their sales are donated to various cancer-based support organizations that provide patient support and/or cancer research.

gotCancer.org is “an organization whose primary goal is to put a smile on the faces of those in the fight against cancer.  They believe that humor is good medicine.  The ability to laugh is the ability to feel strong and to forget about cancer for a moment.  For a person fighting cancer, that’s like a moment of being virtually cancer free.  Think about what that is worth.  Think about how valuable, yet simple that can be. gotCancer.org gear is designed with a little attitude, a lot of humor and a touch of inspiration!   They cater to patients, survivors and the entire cancer community, including friends, families, doctors and nurses; anyone who is a part of the fight against cancer.  All of gotCancer.org‘s net profits are donated to various cancer based support organizations that provide patient support and/or cancer research.”
