Financial Assistance For Cancer Patients Who Can Not Work Due to Cancer Treatments

The financial hardship that a diagnosis of cancer can bring has the potential to be tremendous.  Many people are unable to work during treatments and without income, it is difficult for many to cover their every day living expenses not to mention all of the added expenses related to having a medical condition like co-pays, RXs, supplements, OTC meds, testing that insurance doesn’t cover.  What are people in this situation to do?

Check out The C.H.A.I.N. Fund, Inc… they provide financial assistance to cancer patients who are unable to work as a result of undergoing strenuous cancer treatments.  The C.H.A.I.N. Fund grants can assist in areas such as mortgage, rent, utilities, doctor visit co-pays, prescriptions co-pays (for cancer drugs only), insurance co-pays, & special food needs.   These grants can not be used for any medical treatments, insurance deductibles, car payments, car insurances, cable television, internet services or cell phones.

FREE Tote & Support for Women Facing Cancer

I just learned of yet another amazing organization called The Lydia Project.  The Lydia Project provides several FREE services to women facing any type of cancer anywhere in the world.

Request A Tote

Although many physician offices & hospitals from around the country (click HERE to see a listing) distribute free Lydia totes directly to patients, you can also go online and “Request A Tote” to be sent to someone you care about. Totes are handmade (like the one above) by volunteers and are filled with various encouraging items like a journal, hand creams, as well as other items. (Requests outside the Augusta, GA area are asked to pay shipping charges only.)

Request Support

Just let them know what you need, and they’ll do their best to help you. Additionally, Lydia provides financial assistance (rent, utility, and prescription assistance) to women who are unable to afford these basic expenses while undergoing cancer treatment and who reside in Aiken, Burke, Columbia, McDuffie and Richmond Counties in Georgia.

Request A Prayer

You can even email a request for a prayers.  After all, every bit helps, right?!
